Terms & Conditions
The terms that govern your use of the ChandigarhRide platform, covering bookings, the ChandigarhRide Wallet, payments, cancellations and more.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
01Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and ChandigarhRide (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the ChandigarhRide app and website (the “Platform”). By registering for, accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
02What ChandigarhRide is
ChandigarhRide is a technology platform that lets riders book bike, auto and cab rides with independent, verified ride partners (“Captains”) in Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur, Kharar and Panchkula. Riders can pay for rides using the in-app ChandigarhRide Wallet or other payment methods supported in the app. ChandigarhRide does not itself own vehicles or employ Captains; we provide the booking, matching, payment and support services that connect riders and Captains.
03Eligibility to use ChandigarhRide
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and book rides as a rider.
- Ride Captains must hold a valid driving licence, vehicle registration and any permits required under applicable law for the vehicle category they operate.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
- We may refuse service or suspend accounts that do not meet these requirements.
04User account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and OTPs, and for all activity under your account.
- Provide accurate, current information when creating or updating your account, and keep your contact details up to date.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account through our Report Fraud page.
05How to book a ride
- Sign in to the ChandigarhRide app using your mobile number and the OTP sent to it.
- Enter your pickup and drop-off locations and choose a ride type (Bike, Auto or Cab).
- Review the estimated fare shown in the app and select your payment method (Wallet or another supported method).
- Confirm the booking. We will try to match you with an available, nearby Captain; the booking is confirmed once a Captain accepts.
- Share the ride OTP with your Captain at pickup to start the trip. The fare is charged when the ride is completed.
Either party may cancel a confirmed booking before the ride begins, subject to the cancellation rules in these Terms and our Cancellation Policy.
06Ride services
ChandigarhRide provides a technology platform that connects riders with independent, third-party ride Captains. Rides are performed by the Captain, not by ChandigarhRide. Estimated fares, routes and arrival times are provided for convenience and may vary due to traffic, road conditions or other factors outside our control.
07Driver/ride partner responsibilities
- Hold and maintain all licences, permits, insurance and vehicle documentation required by law.
- Operate the vehicle safely, follow traffic laws, and complete rides via a reasonable route.
- Treat riders respectfully and not discriminate on any unlawful basis.
- Not use the Platform while impaired, fatigued, or in violation of applicable law.
- Keep their in-app profile, vehicle and document information accurate and current.
08Passenger responsibilities
- Provide accurate pickup and drop-off information.
- Treat Captains and other passengers respectfully; abusive or unsafe behaviour may result in account suspension.
- Not request a Captain to violate traffic laws or safety rules.
- Pay the applicable fare, tolls and charges for completed rides.
- Not leave prohibited, illegal or hazardous items in a Captain’s vehicle.
09Pricing and payments
Fares are calculated based on factors such as distance, time, ride type and demand, and are shown to you before you confirm a booking wherever possible. Prices, fees and applicable taxes may change without prior notice, though the fare shown at booking will not change once you confirm the ride, absent a route change you request. Payment can be made via the payment methods supported in the app, including the ChandigarhRide Wallet and cash where enabled for a ride type. Online payments, including wallet top-ups, are processed securely by our payment gateway partner, Razorpay.
10ChandigarhRide Wallet
The ChandigarhRide Wallet (“Wallet”) is a closed-loop, in-app balance linked to your account that you can use to pay for rides and related charges on the Platform. By topping up or using the Wallet, you agree that:
- Wallet balance can be used only on the ChandigarhRide Platform and cannot be used with any other merchant or service.
- Wallet balance is not a bank account or deposit, does not earn interest, and cannot be transferred to another user or account.
- Each account has a single Wallet, which is personal to the registered account holder.
- Your Wallet balance and full transaction history (top-ups, ride payments, refunds and adjustments) are shown in the app.
- Promotional credits, cashback or referral rewards added by ChandigarhRide are shown separately where applicable, may carry an expiry date, and have no cash value.
11Wallet top-up rules
- You can add money to your Wallet from the app using UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking or other methods offered by our payment gateway, Razorpay.
- The minimum top-up amount is ₹50 and the maximum per transaction is ₹5,000.
- The total Wallet balance cannot exceed ₹10,000 at any time. A top-up that would take your balance above this limit will not be accepted.
- A top-up is credited to your Wallet only after the payment is successfully confirmed by Razorpay. This is usually instant.
- You must only use payment instruments that you own or are authorized to use. Top-ups using stolen or unauthorized instruments will be reversed and the account may be suspended.
- We may change these limits, or add per-day or per-month limits, to prevent fraud or comply with law. Updated limits will be shown in the app before you top up.
If money is debited but not credited to your Wallet, or you are charged twice, see Refund & Cancellation Policy.
12How wallet balance is used
- When you choose Wallet as your payment method, the final ride fare is deducted from your Wallet balance when the ride is completed.
- Applicable cancellation charges, tolls, parking or waiting charges for a ride paid via Wallet are also deducted from the Wallet.
- Where available, promotional credits are used before your topped-up balance, unless the offer terms say otherwise.
- If your Wallet balance is not enough to cover the fare, you will be asked to top up or pay the remaining amount using another supported payment method.
- Refunds for rides paid via Wallet are credited back to the Wallet, as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Unused Wallet balance is not withdrawable to a bank account, except when your account is closed, as set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
13Refunds
Where a ride is not completed due to a fault on our or the Captain’s side, or where you are incorrectly charged, you may be eligible for a refund to your Wallet or original payment method. See our dedicated Refund & Cancellation Policy for eligible situations, wallet refunds, cancellation charges, timelines and how to request a refund.
14Cancellation charges
Cancelling a booking before a Captain is assigned, or within 2 minutes of a Captain being assigned, is free. A cancellation charge may apply if you cancel after that, once the Captain has started travelling to your pickup location, to compensate the Captain for time and distance travelled. No charge applies to you if the Captain cancels. Repeated cancellations, by either riders or Captains, may affect your standing on the Platform. Full details are in our Cancellation Policy.
15Promotions and offers
Promotional codes, discounts and offers are subject to their own specific terms, eligibility criteria and expiry dates communicated at the time they are issued. We may modify, suspend or withdraw any promotion at any time, and may deny or reclaim the value of promotions obtained through fraud or in violation of these Terms. Only trust offers shown inside the official app or our verified channels — see Report Fraud if you receive a suspicious offer.
16Prohibited activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data without authorization.
- Interfere with, disrupt or attempt to reverse-engineer the Platform’s security or infrastructure.
- Submit false information, fraudulent payments, or manipulate fares, promotions or ratings.
- Harass, threaten or endanger any rider, Captain or member of the public.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Platform without our written permission.
17Lost and found
If you leave an item in a vehicle, report it through Help & Support with your booking ID as soon as possible. We will try to put you in touch with the Captain, but ChandigarhRide does not guarantee recovery of lost items and is not responsible for items left in a vehicle. Any arrangement to return an item, including reasonable compensation for the Captain’s time, is between you and the Captain.
18User-generated content
Ratings, reviews, support messages and other content you submit through the Platform (“User Content”) must be accurate and must not be defamatory, obscene or infringe on anyone’s rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use User Content to operate, improve and promote the Platform. We may remove User Content that violates these Terms.
19Limitation of liability
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChandigarhRide is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, or from the acts or omissions of independent Captains or third parties, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
20Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ChandigarhRide, its officers and employees harmless from any claims, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Platform, or violation of any law or third-party right.
21Suspension or termination of accounts
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or unsafe conduct, or where required by law. Reasons include, for example, payment or wallet fraud, chargeback abuse, misuse of promotions, multiple accounts, or abusive behaviour towards Captains, riders or staff. During a suspension, Wallet use may be frozen while we investigate.
On termination, any remaining topped-up Wallet balance (excluding promotional credits) will be refunded as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, unless it is linked to fraud or is required to settle amounts you owe us. You may stop using the Platform and request account deletion at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
22Dispute resolution
We encourage you to first raise any concern with our support team through Help & Support so we can try to resolve it directly. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you may escalate it to our Grievance Officer (see our Contact Us page). Any unresolved dispute will be subject to the governing law and jurisdiction set out below.
23Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Chandigarh, India, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
24Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice such as an in-app message. Continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
